Programmes for poverty & homelessness

GRF has recently recorded a variety of different programmes for Poverty & Homelessness Action Week (29 Jan – 6 Feb 2011), including interviews, points of view and a music feature. These have all been made available on the Audiopot website for download.

Listen to an interview here with Anne Wallace from Salt and Light Ministry about her own experience of homelessness and the work of Salt and Light as they offer ‘practical help and support to the lost and broken in Glasgow’.

You can also listen to Jamie and Me, a true story from GRF’s Anne Muir about an encounter with a young homeless man.

GRF wins special award

Members of the GRF team were presented with a special award at the 2010 Jerusalem Radio Awards ceremony in London on 21 October. The award was for ‘outstanding contribution to religious broadcasting’. This special recognition, which was last given four years ago (to Rev Roger Royle), is made at the behest of the Trustees of the award charity.  The whole GRF team is delighted at getting this award – it provides a great encouragement for our work.

Travellers’ Tales interviews

GRF team members were interviewed last week by Patrick Forbes for his weekly 30 minute programme on Premier Christian Radio, Travellers’ Tales.  Kennedy Fraser and Anne Muir both shared insights from their own personal Christian journey with Patrick, who we were delighted to have visit our radio studios along with his wife, Annette.  The two interviews will be transmitted later in the year.

Premier Christian Radio broadcasts in London but is also available on Freeview (channel 725) and Sky Digital (channel 0123) and on DAB radio.
