GRF nominated for two Sandford Awards

GRF is delighted to have two programmes shortlisted for this year’s prestigious Sandford St Martin Awards.

Our documentary about Mary Livingstone, Mrs Livingstone I Presume?, is shortlisted in the Radio category (and is the only non-BBC produced or broadcast programme in that category).

Mrs Livingstone I Presume? was broadcast by Premier Radio in London on 27 May 2013. Read more information about the programme.

In the Podcasts category, our Christmas edition of smallVOICE has been shortlisted. You can find out more about the podcast on the smallVOICE website: www.smallvoice.org.uk and you can listen to the podcast here.

Two Jerusalem Awards for GRF

Brian_Gill_Jerusalem_Awards_CROP

We’re very happy to report that our two shortlisted programmes both won awards at last night’s Jerusalem Awards held at BAFTA in London.

The programmes were very different  – one a personal reflection for Fathers’ Day; the other, a satirical television sketch for Christmas – but the judges were fulsome in their praise for both. The Fathers’ Day piece was ‘very moving’ and involving; the sketch was ‘clever and creative, with a smart Christian message’.

GRF Team members, Brian Muir and Gillian McKinnon, were at the award ceremony to accept the awards on behalf of GRF.

GRF wins special award

Members of the GRF team were presented with a special award at the 2010 Jerusalem Radio Awards ceremony in London on 21 October. The award was for ‘outstanding contribution to religious broadcasting’. This special recognition, which was last given four years ago (to Rev Roger Royle), is made at the behest of the Trustees of the award charity.  The whole GRF team is delighted at getting this award – it provides a great encouragement for our work.

Travellers’ Tales interviews

GRF team members were interviewed last week by Patrick Forbes for his weekly 30 minute programme on Premier Christian Radio, Travellers’ Tales.  Kennedy Fraser and Anne Muir both shared insights from their own personal Christian journey with Patrick, who we were delighted to have visit our radio studios along with his wife, Annette.  The two interviews will be transmitted later in the year.

Premier Christian Radio broadcasts in London but is also available on Freeview (channel 725) and Sky Digital (channel 0123) and on DAB radio.
